Genevieve Ann (Onosko) Dagenbach, 85, passed peacefully at her home in Altamonte Springs, FL, on January 14, 2012 surrounded by her family. Genevieve was born on September 24, 1926, to Joseph and Julia (Krasowski) Onosko. She was educated at St. Casmir’s School and graduated from Kenosha High School. She was artistic and had a passion for the visual arts. A few of her drawings and paintings were exhibited at the Kenosha Museum. During World War II, she worked at Samuel Lowe and later Great Lakes. Her responsibilities included making parachutes for packages to be delivered to soldiers. She worked professionally in the marketing department of Simmons and was featured in print ads. After the war, she worked in the offices of American Motors and Jockey prior to marriage. She met Paul Dagenbach at the American Legion early in 1953. They wed on July 31, 1954. Paul joined the Kenosha Fire Department and Genevieve was a homemaker. After her children were grown, she was employed as a financial caseworker for Kenosha County Social Services. She retired from the county in 1986 and moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida. She was an active member of St. Casmir’s Church in Kenosha and The Church of the Annunciation in Altamonte Springs. While in Kenosha she was a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Association, Widow Member of the BPO Elks in Kenosha, and the Christian Mothers. In Florida, she actively participated of the Fifties and Over group, and she volunteered in the finance department for The Church of the Annunciation. She is survived by four children, Warren and his wife, Darcie (Johnston) Dagenbach of Bethlehem, PA, Kathleen (Dagenbach) Landis and her husband, Dave of Shawnee, KS, Mary Jo (Dagenbach) Herrmann and her husband, David of West Bend, WI, and John Dagenbach of Altamonte Springs, FL; and six grandchildren, Christopher Landis, Julia Herrmann, Katherine Dagenbach, Elizabeth Dagenbach, Michelle Landis, and Alison Herrmann. She was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 29 years, in 1984; her parents; and four brothers, Stanley, Edward, Felix, and Joseph Onosko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 4th, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Casmir’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
