Eness Pontillo, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kenosha on October 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Rosalie (Russo) Cherenni. On April 12, 1942, she married Anthony Pontillo at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1981. Eness was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the I.A. Ladies Society and the Women’s Club. She enjoyed ceramics. She loved spending time with family and friends and flourishing them her excellent homemade Italian cookies and cakes. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother. Eness lived life to the fullest every day and will be sadly missed by all. Eness is survived by her three children, Anthony (Donna) Pontillo of Kenosha, James "Cy" (Wanda) Pontillo of Kenosha and Sandra (Wayne) Loppnow of the Town of Raymond, WI; seven grandchildren, Tony Pontillo, Jr., Sherry Gedgaudas, Scott Pontillo, Kari Morgan, Katie Klotz, Jennifer Becker and Casey Lawrence; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Olga Gilles of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; great-grandson, Dan Kitt; and two sisters, Gilda Johnson and Eva Sturino. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookside Care Center, Dr. Ganesh Pulla, Dr. Mata and Dr. David Needle for the wonderful care extended to our mother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Eness was a very good friend of my mother before my mother passed away years ago. She was always so nice whenever I saw her and spoke to her. Eness , my mom and other friends would regularly have lunch together. She would pick my mom up for those lunches and I don't think I ever saw Eness without a smile on her face.
