Odilia Sarauer, 89, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged. Born on January 12, 1922, in Bloomer, WI, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Amort) Smetana. She was educated in the schools of Bloomer, WI, before coming to Kenosha in 1959 to make her home. For over 17 years she had been employed as a Seamstress for Jockey International, retiring in 1982. On May 11, 1948, she married Alvin Sarauer in Bloomer, WI. He passed away in 1982. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Kenosha. Odilia loved crafts, sewing and carving. Surviving are her three children, Helen Gustafson of Kenosha, Thomas (Laurie) Sarauer of Sturtevant, WI, and Daniel Sarauer of Pleasant Prairie; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey and John Stubbs, Jessica Navejas, Jason Sarauer, Michael, Andrew and Peter Sarauer; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sarauer; and a brother, George Smetana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19th, at Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
