Vincent Zarletti

1922 ∼ 2011

Vincent L. Zarletti, 89, of Kenosha, passed from this life into eternal life with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at United Hospital Systems-St. Catherine’s Hospital. Born in Kenosha on May 8, 1922, he was the son of Domenic and Maria (Benassi) Zarletti. Vincent was a lifetime resident of Kenosha. He was educated in the Kenosha Public Schools. Vince Zarletti served in the U.S. Army in the Military Police during WWII from 1943 to an honorable discharge in 1945. On January 10, 1942, he married Mary A. DeChiara at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Kenosha. Together, they lovingly raised four children, Rosemary (John) Cibrario, Pleasant Prairie; Dan (Susan) Zarletti, Glenview, IL; Larry (Becky) Zarletti and Ed (Jodie) Zarletti, both of Kenosha. Vince and Mary were also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Mark (Kathy) and Robert (Pam) Cibrario; Katie and Daniel Zarletti, Vincent (Justine), Gina and Amanda Zarletti; Julie and Brenda Zarletti and eight great-grandchildren; Kyle and Kacie Cibrario, Deanna, Samantha and Emmie Cibrario; Vincent II, Sofia and Santino Zarletti, due to arrive on June 9, 2011. Vince and his wife Mary were former owners of Victory Cleaners, with partner Ottie Bruno, M&V Coin Laundries, True Image Beauty Salon, with daughter Rosemary and E-Z Car Wash and Safeway Auto Sales, with son Ed. Vincent is survived by two brothers, Nello (Anna) Zarletti and Rudy (Martha) Zarletti and a sister-in-law, Florence Zarletti (Carlo) and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary of nearly 60 years and brothers Mario, Domenic, Frank and Carlo Zarletti and a sister, Angeline Fabian (Zarletti), all of Kenosha. Vince was blessed with a large extended family including 34 nieces and nephews as well as loving brother and sister-in-laws Dolly (John) Roscioli, Jenny Vite and Leora DeChiara (Frank Jr.) of Kenosha, Delores Phillips, Battle Creek, MI and longtime companion Phyllis Vincent of Kenosha. Extra special thanks go out to Vince’s team of doctors and caregivers who diligently managed his immediate care over the past 14 months; Dr. M. Schroeder-Capelli; Dr. L. Montemurro, Dr. M. Kreager, Dr. P. Mariani and Dr. M. Garretto. His daily caregivers including Phyllis, Paula, Diane, Autumn, Jen, Jody and granddaughter, Julie, along with his four children. And, all the professional service staff on the second floor and in the ICU at St. Catherine’s Hospital. Vince was an active member of the Italian American Society and was honored in 1994 by the Italian Business and Professional Association as an outstanding business entrepreneur. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 9th, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors.
