Joyce B. Feifer, age 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus with her daughter by her side. Born in Kenosha on August 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Slater) Zuidweg. Joyce was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated at Friedens School and the Kenosha school system. While attending grade school she met the love of her life Herb Feifer. They were married at Friedens Lutheran Church. She was blessed with three wonderful children, Michael, Jan and Leigh and was devoted to her family. Joyce loved her job at the Kenosha Public Library and was an avid genealogist. She did lots of research and compiled a beautiful family history. Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, collecting “Flow Blue” china, baking cheesecakes and she loved going antiquing. As a young girl she loved to ice skate. She liked music especially the Norman Luboff choir and Frank Sinatra. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, the Kenosha Camera Club and was actively involved with her Club of high school friends. Surviving Joyce is her daughter, Jan (James) Sinclair of Kenosha; daughter, Leigh Reisch of Mimbres, New Mexico; and son, Michael Feifer of Kenosha. Her grandson, John Sinclair of Madison; granddaughter, Megan Feifer of Baton Rouge, LA; loving nieces, Lynn Fox of Kenosha and Karen English of Coal Valley, IL; and many special friends, also survive her. She was so proud of them. Her loving husband of 60 years, Herbert, her grandson, Eric, and son-in-law, John Reisch, preceded her in death. Special thanks to her friends and neighbors, Hospice and health care providers and caring son-in-law, Jim Sinclair. Joyce was part of our family and part of our hearts for many wonderful years and she will always be remembered. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, at Friedens Lutheran Church, 5038-19th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. A special double interment of both Joyce and Herbert will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to Kenosha Public Library, Friedens Lutheran Church or Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Joyce’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
