John J. Peters, 54, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Hospice House with his wife at his side. Born in Kenosha on January 18, 1957, he was the son of the late Harold “Pete” and Florence (DeCesaro) Peters. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. On April 18, 1996, he married the love of his life for the previous 15 years, Juli Janovicz in Milwaukee. He retired from American Motors/ Chrysler. He also was a musician and sound engineer traveling and working with many bands including the Chi Chi Band, White Brothers and Taurus Rising. He also worked for Stage One Night Club and Superior Light and Sound. John enjoyed working on cars, especially his ’66 GTO, and was also known as a handyman around the house. Survivors include his wife, Juli of Kenosha; two sisters, Joyce (Bob Sr.) Saftig and Jill (Todd) Bolyard, both of Kenosha; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Nancy Janovicz of Kenosha; two brothers-in-law, Vince (Jackie) Janovicz and Todd Janovicz, both of Kenosha; his grandmother-in-law, Florence Whiteford of Kenosha; three nephews, Robert Saftig, Jr., Brian (Nikki) Saftig and Jake Janovicz; two nieces, Nicki Bolyard and Sabrina Bolyard; and his beloved dogs and cat, Hannah, Mister Peabody and Chinese Cat.
