Edith O'Connor
Edith M. O’Connor, 80, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Milwaukee on March 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Koslosky) Goldberg. She lived most of her life in Kenosha. On June 14, 1952, she married Peter O’Connor at St. Mary’s Church in Port Washington, WI. He preceded her in death four days earlier on April 12, 2011. Edith was employed as a vice president at Kenosha Savings and Loan for 16 years until her retirement in 1990. She was on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army, was a member of the Quota Club to help raise money for the deaf, volunteered at St. Mark’s School Library, and delivered Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed knitting and made many beautiful sweaters for her family. She was an avid reader and instilled a love of reading in her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her five children, Julie (Scott) Thompson of Durango, CO, Susan (Tom) Nelson of Monroe, WI, Amy (Tim) Holtzman of Minneapolis, MN, Peter S. O’Connor of Kenosha, and Mary (Brian) Dunham of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren, Kate (Joshua) Tesch, Andrew Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Carolyn Nelson, Nick (Rochelle) Holtzman, Maureen Holtzman, Kellen Holtzman, Hallie Dunham, and Jake Dunham; and a sister, Ellen Mueller of Rio Rancho, NM. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Ballo.
