Peter Yde

1928 ∼ 2011

Peter Yde, 82, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. He was born on December 12, 1928, in Pillager, MN, the son of the late Peter and Lena (Sohns) Yde. Peter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Peter later moved to Kenosha and began working in the auto body industry and formed Yde Auto Body Shop and later Yde Stateline Auto Body which he operated for 21 years until his retirement in 2001. On October 18, 1975, he married Jane Routt-Swoboda in Kenosha. Surviving Peter is his wife, Jane of Kenosha; his five sons, Peter (Sally) Yde of Kenosha, Neil (Lisa) Yde of Florida, Robert (Linda)Yde of Alabama, Timothy Yde of Kenosha, and Bradley Yde of St. Cloud, MN; three step children, Jon (Paula) Swoboda of Kenosha, Jan (Glenn) Fenske of Kenosha, and Jody (David) Dome of Kenosha; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, David Yde of Brainerd, MN; a sister-in-law, Della Steininger of Brainerd, MN; and also many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Jean; a sister, Margery Root; two brothers, Paul and Donald Yde; and a step daughter, Jill Swoboda. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a military honors service. Interment will be held at Sylvan Cemetery in Brainerd, MN.
