Virginia L. Combs, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at her residence. She was born in Manitowoc, WI, on September 6, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Wehausen) Roedig. She was educated in the schools of Manitowoc and later moved to Kenosha. On July 12, 1952, she married William Combs in Manitowoc; he preceded her in death. Virginia was employed by American Motors and worked on the line until her retirement in 1982. She is survived by her son, William Jr. (Laurie) Combs of Rio, WI; two grandchildren, William Roland III (Sarah) Combs of Pell Lake, WI, and Katie-Louise Combs of Kenosha; two great grandchildren, Ty and Ayla; three brothers, Charles Jr. of Athelstane, WI, Robert of Manitowoc and Dan Roedig of Winter Park, IL; and four sisters, Lucille Hartley of Rockport, TX, Marion Vandersande of Manitowoc, WI, Grace Maule of Athelstane, WI, and Betsy Roedig of Schofield, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and six sisters, Florence, Gladis, Irene, Betty Ann, June and Joyce. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
