Ida Matera, 97, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Littarico, Provence of Cosenza, Italy, on October 28, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Maryann Belmonte. On July 24, 1951, she came to Kenosha to make her home. On February 1, 1951, she married Emilio Matera in Italy. He passed away on November 24, 1976. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Holy Rosary Ladies Auxiliary, Italian American Ladies Auxiliary and Kenosha Senior Citizens Center. Surviving are eleven step-grandchildren including, Emil (Lynn) Matera, Melinda (Honorable Rudolph) Randa, and Marilyn (Thomas) Westland; several nieces and nephews and her special nephew, Frank (Mary) Surdo; and special in-law, Victoria Belmonte. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Belmonte; and one sister, Luisa Torchia; and a nephew, Camillo Belmonte. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 25th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. I Am Very Sorry For The Loss of Ida Matera, I Send My Condolences To The Family..... I've Gotten To Know Her For A Short Period Of Time During That Time I Found Out Alot About Her and Her Family That She Really Adored. She Was A Very Sweet Lady And She was A Very Good Cook! I Hope You'll Heal Quick Over This Sad Time And Remember All The Good Times You've Had With Her And Remember She Loved & Cherished All Of You!
