Marian A. Richards, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her residence with her granddaughters at her side. Born in Kenosha on January 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Bach) Thomas. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended local schools. On May 4, 1946, she married Henry J. "Hank" Richards at St. George Catholic Church. He passed away on February 24, 1985. Marian was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Senior Group. Marian enjoyed her twice a year visits to California where she could spend time with her daughter and granddaughters; she also enjoyed spending time in Milwaukee with her son. Most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Marian will always be remembered by her family for her wonderful coffee cakes. She had been employed at Simmons Company in the office for a number of years. After her children were grown Marian returned to work at the Kenosha Unified Schools; for many years she worked in the lunchroom at Lincoln Middle School. Surviving are her two children, Kathy (Jesse) Suarez of Sacramento, CA, and James T. (Barbara) Richards of Milwaukee; her two grandchildren, Jenna (Nathan) McCallister of Portland, OR, and Nicole Suarez of Sacramento, CA; her great-grandson, Bodhi McCallister; and a sister, Alice Greathouse of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Thomas; and two sisters, Helen Berieter and Millie Perkins. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 18th, at All Saints Mausoleum Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at All Saints Mausoleum Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
