Robert Millard Erickson, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011, at Hospitality Manor. Born on November 30, 1933, in Ettrick Township, WI, he was the son of the late Howard Laverd and Hilma (Severson) Erickson. He served in the United States Army from April 9, 1953, until he was honorably discharged on April 5, 1955. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. On February 11, 1956, he married Bonnie Bradley at Zion Lutheran Church in Blair, WI. In 1959 they moved to Kenosha. He was employed with American Motors/Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in January of 1989, as well as many other various part-time jobs throughout his life. Robert was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the UAW Local 72, the American Legion, the VFW Post #1865, past member of the Trustees and very active with the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He enjoyed collecting model cars, stamps and coins, enjoyed watching the Packers, Cubs and basketball games, and taking trips up to Northern Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Kenosha; his four children, Vicki (George) Rezny of Three Lakes, WI, Debbie (Mark) Paul of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Cheryl (Albert Jr.) Achille of Erie, PA, and Jim (Dawn) Erickson of Kenosha; seven grandchildren, Ryan Rezny, Crystal Rezny, Zachary (Christa) Paul, Stacy (fiancée, Jesse Maan) Paul, Samantha Achille, Anthony Achille, and Carlee Erickson; three sisters, Bernadine (Wendell) Johnson of Melrose, WI, Jean Brammer of Milwaukee, WI, and Myrna ("Bush") Boerschinger of Waterford, WI; one brother, Allen (Mary) Erickson of LaCrecent, MN; two aunts, Esther Van Vleet of Rochester, MN, and Grace Howard of Wellford, SC; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandson, Sonny, who is expected to arrive in two weeks on March 31. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. I am so sad to hear Robert passed away.He was a great neighbor growing up and my first boss, sacking potatoes and working at Seven Mile Fair.He is in a better place.God Bless, Cindy Winkler
