Linnea H. Olson, 98, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on May 8, 1912, in Russell, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Sigrid (Peterson) Westman. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, WI. On September 28, 1935, she married Edward E. Olson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1991. Linnea was the oldest member of Bristol United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, Kenosha County Homemakers Association, Kenosha Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Westosha Senior Citizens Center. Linnea was a volunteer at Bristol School Library. She proudly attended her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school and sporting events and any function in which they were involved. Surviving are her two children, Joyce (Ralph) Myers of Bristol and Gene (Arlene) Olson of Kenosha; a brother, Robert (Virginia) Westman of Kenosha; seven grandchildren, Scott Olson, Kimberly Graba, Marcia (Dan) Peterson, Melissa Garcia, Jeffrey Myers, James (Linda) Myers and Jerome (Kirsten) Myers; and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Joey, Jessica, Eddie, Nico, Franki, Thia, Mike, Emily, Kristina, David, Sarah, Caitlyn and Brad. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Florence Johnson, Alice Johnson and Hildreth Mellor; and a brother, Jack Westman. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6th, Bristol United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at North Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Proko Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
