Edward J. Capelli, 70, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1940, in Kenosha, the son of the late Tony and Helen (Gullo) Capelli. On August 25, 1960, he married Frances V. "Judy" Ashcraft in Kenosha. Edward served in the United States Marine Corps from March 13, 1957, until his honorable discharge on March 11, 1960. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed by SuperValu as a meat cutter until his retirement in 1996. Edward was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Frances "Judy" of Kenosha; his five children, Angela (Gary) Mandernack of Kenosha, Debbie (Jeffrey) Lupi of Pleasant Prairie, Kelly (Jay) Brown of Salem, John (Melanie) Capelli of Wheatland, and Eugene (Lori) Capelli of Kenosha; ten grandchildren, Todd (Amy), Melissa (Dennis), Gary Jr., Madeline, Max, Corey, Natalie, Anthony, Nicholas, and Vincenzo; four great-grandchildren, Kameron, Ariana, Todd W., and Gracie; one brother, Richard "Dick" of California; and two sisters, Maria Kleczka of Kenosha and Chris (John) Pierce of Florida. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Ziehen, Dr. Malik Bandealy, Hospice, and his friends, John Morehouse, Ronnie Kole, Art Piccolo and Bob Costabile for their care. Also, a very special thank you and appreciation for Father Roscioli for his visits to our dad. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Full Military Honors will follow the Mass. Interment will be private.
