Erving W. Robinson, 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on November 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Burt and Laura (Kulieke) Robinson. A lifelong resident of Kenosha County, he was educated in local schools. After World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he worked for a short time at American Motors where he met his wife, Doreen Nelson. They were united in marriage on October 20, 1951, in Kenosha. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2010. Erving worked for 37 years with the Kenosha County Highway Department until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was a longtime board member and recording secretary of the Springbrook Cemetery Association, and enjoyed gardening, walking and riding his bike. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Claudia (Erwin) Dahl of Kenosha; his son, Warren (Jill) Robinson of Somers; eight grandchildren, Julia (Shavez), Carrie (Jamison) Kristina, Eileen, Allison, Valerie, Scott and Eric; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Melani and Haylee. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Malcolm, Ralph and Allen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Springbrook Cemetery. Erv was a prince of a man! He is so special to me, I look at his picture and he is just the most handsome spitfire of a man. He only wanted to be with his wife again. God Bless him and his family, my heart and prayers are with you at this sad time. Love - Rae
