Helen Mary Hinkes, 85, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, IL, on November 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Michael James and Mary Cecelia (Fitzgerald) Finn. Helen was proud to be a graduate of Mundelein College in Chicago, IL. On September 17, 1949, she married John R. Hinkes at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. He passed away on January 15, 2001. For many years Helen worked in the Fine Jewelry Dept. at Marshall Fields and later she was a Realtor in Deerfield, IL, for 10 years. In 1997 she came to Kenosha to make her home. She and her husband joined St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Helen’s joy in life was her children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Surviving are her six children, Mary Pat (Wayne) Spon of Silver Spring, MD, Michael J. (Mecia) Hinkes of Chicago, IL, John R. (Mary) Hinkes of Tucson, AZ, JoEllyn Storz of Kenosha, Thomas J. Hinkes of Lake Bluff, IL, and Brian Finn Hinkes of Spring, TX; a sister, Patricia Ann Redmond of Long Boat Key, FL; twelve grandchildren, John F. (Kristi) Storz, Lauren M. (Justin) Wieners, Nora E. Storz, Brian F. Hinkes, Megan Hinkes, Lauren A. Hinkes, John R. Hinkes, Michael P. Hinkes, Kathleen M. Hinkes-Garcia, Lindsay Iffenger, Brent (Lauren) Bergmark, and Nels T.J. (Anna) Bergmark; and seven great-grandchildren, Jenna L. and Riley J. Storz, Sonja Acedo, Bowen Emmett Brown, and Ashley, Layne and Liam Bergmark. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, December 23rd, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Dear Family of Helen (or, as my Dad called her HELENA). I am soo very sad and sorry to hear of Moms' passing. She meant alot to my Dad and I always enjoyed her. She was a very classy lady. I will miss her. I must say I was shocked as I just saw her!! My thoughts are with all of you.
