James Hanson, 82, of Elko, NV, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, NV. He was born on October 22, 1928, in Crookston, MN, the son of the late Earl and Margaret (Heinman) Hanson. In December of1967, he married Gladys Gonring in Racine, WI. They moved to Kenosha in 1969. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2002. He was employed as a maintenance technician by Ocean Spray for 30 years, until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the IAM (International Association of Machinists). He enjoyed reading, playing guitar and painting. He was also a participant in politics. James is survived by his children, Mary Hanson of Elko, NV, Melanie Alexander of Greendale, WI, and Michael Hanson of Milwaukee, WI; step son, Robert Burmeister of Kenosha; step daughter, Teresa (Burmeister) Leopoldt of Salem, WI; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4th, at Proko Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
