Eulala E. "Lale" Polfus, 92, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. Born in New Richmond, WI, on February 28, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Agnes (Breckenridge) Higgins. She was educated in the schools of New Richmond and attended St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul, MN. She moved to Kenosha in 1966. On January 6, 1945, she married Arthur Polfus in Oceana, VA. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1992. She worked in the offices of various doctors in both New Richmond and Kenosha before retiring in 1976 and was also a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She was a very active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Food Pantry. Eulala was a beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry P. Higgins, and a sister, Mary Josephine Running. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Richmond.
