Harold W. Helwig

Harold W. Helwig, 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Sheridan Medical Center of Kenosha. He was born in Kenosha on February 18, 1920, the son of the late Edward and Elma (Schneider) Helwig. Harold served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman/second class from 1945 until 1946. On September 16, 1950, he married Katherine E. Diener at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. Harold was employed at Johnson Outboard Marine Company as a tool and die maker from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. Harold was an avid photographer, fisherman and hunter and a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving Harold is his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Janice Legler of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Eric and Bryan Legler of Kenosha; and special great-grandson, Sly. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Gallo.
