William “Popeye” Rozzoni, 92, of Kenosha, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010, at HCR Manor Care. He was born on May 9, 1918, in Kenosha, the son of the late Ercole and Dorothy (Cosmino) Rozzoni. On February 11, 1954, he married Crystal Sorensen. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2001. William was employed by Simmons for 15 years, American Motors for 5 years, and Mac Whyte for 18 years, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood and St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing softball, horseshoes, bowling and watching sports. William is survived by his two daughters, Jonna Chiapete of Racine, WI, and Carlice (Henry) Czarnecki of Clayton, IA; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Yolanda Edwards of Bristol. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mario, Willard, and Frank; three sisters, Jessie Mantuano, Evelyn Gilliland and Olga Schindler; and a son-in-law, Ronald Chiapete. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23rd, at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
