Jack Meiers was a paternal first-cousin of mine. I admired him greatly. I recall my parents going to his fist wedding. I was 5 or 6 or 7 years of age at that time. Jack was unselfish in his care and concern for other people. His brother Charlie wa crippled all his life, and Jack was helpful in attending to him. After Jack's first wife died of cancer, he married someone else some years later. He cared for his children her children, and the children to whom they gave birth. Jack Meiers was a man of faith, of courage, a man who was not afraid of work, a truly valiant man. May he reap the unending reward of his unselfish labors. Almighty God cannot be outdone in generosity.

We are so sorry for all of you in the loss of your father and grandfather. We enjoyed being neighbors with your parents and participating in Lions events with them. Also, they had a timeshare next to ours in Eagle River and we had fun with them during vacations there. Jack was a wonderful man who gave much to his friends and to the community. Our thoughts are with you.

Our condolences to the family. You don't need us to tell what a dear, loving person Jack was. We regret that we didn't see him more often when we were in WI visiting but he will remain in our memories as a person we had the honor of knowing.

My prayers are to you the family of Jack. Although I just met him last summer when he fell in front of our apartment complex, I was honored to get to know him even if it was for a short time. I was the one that tried to help him and got him back to his building, but then he fell again. 911 was called and he was taken care of. I did call him the next day to see how he was doing and he sounded so much better. He told me that at the time of the fall he didn't realize that his Diabetic Blood Sugar count was so low. I understand that completely as I too am a Diabetic. Talking to him then I realized what an intelligent man he was and very much a gentlemen. It was a pleasure to get to know him. God Bless, Georgianne Sampson
