Concetta Caira, 78, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 24, 1931, in Marano Principato, Prov. of Cosenza, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Francesco and Virginia (Tenuta) Passarelli. On June 17, 1951, she married Francesco Caira in Marano at Santa Annunciata Catholic Church. They moved to Kenosha in 1961. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1969. Concetta worked for over 20 years at LeBlanc until her retirement in 2003. She also worked at My’s Restaurant, Paielli’s, Luigi’s Restaurant, and American Motors. Concetta was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved to cook and bake. She was known for her cookies. She enjoyed sharing what she baked with her friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Julia (David) Durden, Ida Clara (John) Fredericks, Vincent (Pat) Caira, Sr., Dr. Luigi (Lora) Caira all of Kenosha; her siblings, Antonio (Carmella) Passarelli, Emil (Mary Ann) Passarelli, Esterina (Domenic) Savaglio, Rita Ruffolo, and John (Rosetta) Passarelli; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosina Pulice, and two brother-in-laws, Pietro Ruffolo and Giuseppe Pulice. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
