Kyle David Walters, 16, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa. Born in Racine on March 15, 1994, he was the son of David and Rita (Rehm) Walters. Kyle attended Jane Vernon Elementary School, Lance Middle School and was currently starting his junior year at Tremper High School. Kyle loved watching movies and was an avid Spongebob Squarepants fan. He enjoyed spending time at the Easter Seals Camp and loved to swim. Most of all he enjoyed being around his family and friends and will be remembered for his infectious smile. He is survived by his mother, Rita (Daryl Moore) Walters of Kenosha; his father, David Walters of Kenosha; his siblings, Alyssa Rehm, Logan Walters, Jordyn Walters and Hailey Walters; his paternal grandfather, Richard (Donna) Walters of Racine; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth (Linda) Rehm of Appleton, WI; his maternal grandmother, Marcia Rehm of Bristol; and also his aunts, uncles, cousins and nephew. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carol Walters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Bristol-Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Proko Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Kyle was such a sweet and happy boy- he was always able to make people smile at his therapy sessions and I really enjoyed being his physical therapist, even if only for a short while. He will be very much missed. Keeping you all in my thoughts.

Rita and family, I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family at the loss of Kyle. He was a star in our class at Tremper. Everyone loved him, students and staff alike. He was my special guy and I will miss him so much. I have DVD's of Kyles community experiences with Harborside students at Jelly Belly, ice skating, bowling and the boathouse, and decorating the trolley, working in the school garden, and our 2010 picnic at Pets in May if you'd like to see any. Rita, I never forgot about that kid. I would always think of him whenever I would see someone his age being pushed in a wheelchair. I sometimes wondered what was going through Kyle's mind. I even sometimes forgot his name was Kyle. Dave, Tim and I would always call him "face". Kyle did not deserve this. I hope you'll be okay. G

Rita, it saddened me to hear of Kyle's passing. This has to be a very hard time for you and your family. I always remember Kyle as a little boy. He was so sweet and special.
