Joseph J. Mastronardi, 77, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at his residence. Born in Kenosha on March 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Andrew and Rose (Vona) Mastronardi. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. On October 20, 1951, he married Enes C. Kress at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2002. Joe was a master carpenter, beginning his apprenticeship with Frank Petretti. He worked many years in his own business and then worked at American Motors/Chrysler in the carpentry department until his retirement in 1990. He then worked again in his own business after retiring from Chrysler. Joe was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and also the Holy Rosary Church Choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting skeet, training his dogs and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his son, Steve Mastronardi of Kenosha; daughter, Lori (Steve) Broughman of Kenosha; two brothers, James Mastronardi of Santee, CA, and Andrew (Mary Ann) Mastronardi of Kenosha; a sister, Josephine Bunosso of Derby, CT; four grandchildren, Michael (Kristy) Biddle of Osgoode, ON Canada, Shelly Biddle of Kenosha, Sarah Mastronardi of Milwaukee and Sabrina (Vernon) Tuinstra of Kenosha; three great grandchildren, Alexa, Mason and Rylan; many nieces and nephews; and also his beloved dog, Max. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Mastronardi; and three sisters, Minnie Berent, Theresa Cowick and Mary Jean Mastronardi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9th, from the Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
