Janet M. Baxter

Janet Marie Baxter, 71, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at her residence. Born on August 20, 1938, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Lillian (Bookman) Baxter. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. She later attended the Achievement Center in Kenosha. She loved to take her nieces to Saturday matinees at the Lake Theater. Janet had a very strong faith in God and was devoted to reading her Bible. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and was devoted to helping homeless cats and loved her cat Queenie. Janet is survived by three nieces, Pat (Frank) Seitz of Wild Rose, WI, Debbie (Eddie) Ogren of Pleasant Prairie and Sue Ogren of Kenosha; and eleven great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Baxter and his wife Barb; a sister, Ruth Hopper and her husband Bud; and a niece, Lynn Baxter. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
