Mr. John E. "Jack" Thomas, age 63, of Kenosha, WI, died on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at his residence after a yearlong battle with cancer. John was born on October 22, 1946, one of five sons born to Ralph and Beulah (Mueller) Thomas. John was educated through Kenosha schools and graduated from Bradford in 1964. John worked as a longshoreman until 1986 and at Martin Petersen in the shipping and receiving department. He retired from ITT in 2006. The one thing John was most proud of was his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an infantry solider in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He married Gloria Belongia Kenny on October 28, 1983, in Fort Meyers, FL. Some of the things John enjoyed were golfing, baseball, fishing, hunting, gardening, the art of Judo, being close to his family and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. John was a member of the VFW and he showed his friends and family what it was like to be strong-willed. John was the kindest man you could ever meet and will be missed and held in the hearts of many. Surviving is his wife, Gloria of Kenosha; a step-daughter, Debra (Henry) Holman of Pleasant Prairie; four brothers, Ralph (Kathy) Thomas of Kenosha, William (Jackie) Thomas of Kenosha, Gerald (Alice) Thomas of Arlington Heights, IL, and Daniel (Mary) Thomas of Punta Gorda, FL; three grandchildren, Summer (Bill) Cook, Dan (Amber) Holman, and Brad Holman; and five great-grandchildren, Richard Holman, Cailyn Cook, William Cook, Adrian Holman, and Isabella Holman. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph H. Thomas and Beulah M. Thomas.
