Keith Spitzer
Keith M. "Wiener" Spitzer, 57, of Kenosha, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on November 26, 1952, he was the son of the late Lee and Viva (Bailey) Spitzer. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Keith graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. On September 9, 2003, he married Carol Cross in Kenosha. He was the owner/operator of Keith’s-A-Kenosha-Tavern for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, and working in his garden. Keith was an avid Packer fan and NASCAR fan, enjoyed shooting pool and playing darts. He had a love of Blues music and has held the longest running Blues jam in Kenosha at his tavern. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren, family, friends, his dog Goldy, and his overall love of life. He lived by his motto, "I ain’t never had too much fun!" Survivors include his wife, Carol of Kenosha; a daughter, Jenny (Jodin) Froeber of Somers; a son, Jesse Spitzer of Kenosha; a step daughter, Stacy (Lee) Huml of Kenosha; two brothers, Kerry (Gail) Spitzer and Kurt Spitzer, both of Kenosha; three sisters, Karen Spitzer of Kenosha, Kim (Robert) Sanderson of Twin Lakes, and Kay (Ted) Goergen of Somers; his three grandchildren, Mikey Spitzer, Payton Huml, and Avianna Huml; and also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Spitzer; and beloved father-in-law, William Cross. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. You were a great man, Keith. An upstanding husband, father, friend, and brother to your family. We do not know why and so terribly sorry that you were the one chosen to suffer the agony, fear and pain of cancer. You were very, very brave and strong. Your suffering is now over. I want to send out my condolences to Keith's friends and family. I used to work at Model Market. I remember him coming in for supplies for his bar, and he was one of the kindest people i had the pleasure of meeting. May he be in a better place. My prayers are with all his family and friends.
