Alfredo Casalena1938-2010Alfredo Casalena, 71, of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, March 27, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus. Born in Pedara di Rocca Fluvione, Ascoli Piceno, Italy on June 5th, 1938, the son of the late Francesco and Emma (Travanti) Casalena. As a young child the family moved to Nereto, Teramo where he received his education and where he is still remembered as the best soccer goalie ever. On June 3rd, 1959 he came to Kenosha and resided here until 1989 when he moved to Aurora, IL., he later returned to Kenosha in 2005 and has resided here since. On August 5th, 1989, in Kenosha, he married Kim Mueller.Alfredo started in the construction business, then he opened Alfredo’s Restaurant and later worked for Fansteel in West Chicago. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. He was big fan of the Green Bay Packers and Soccer; he also loved to fish and was an excellent bowler in his younger years.Surviving are his wife Kim, one son; Michael (Lisa) Casalena of Aiken, SC., two daughters; Linda Casalena of Albany, GA., and Emily Casalena of Kenosha, two brothers; Antonio (Giuliana) and Domenico (Ersilia) Casalena and one sister Lucia (Roy) Inclan all of Kenosha, three grandchildren, Amanda Holloman, Heather and Ashley Casalena. He is also survived by his former wife Helen Casalena and his brother in law Vincenzo Schiavi.He was preceded in death by a brother Alfredo, in infancy and one sister Maria Concetta Schiavi.Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29th at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, March 30th, at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until prayers at 10:00 A.M. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10:30 A.M. at St. James Church. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
