Elvira GIANTONIO

Elvira Giantonio, 86, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on July 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lisetta (Frosolono) Giantonio. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated at Bain Elementary, McKinley Junior High, and graduated from Bradford High School. In her earlier yeas she worked at American Motors. She was better known as her family’s caretaker. She loved to cook, bake, collect recipes, play cards, go shopping, and listen to music. She also enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and knick knacks. Survivors include her two brothers, Fred and Eugene Giantonio, both of Kenosha; here nieces and nephews, Patsy Lencioni of Milwaukee, Joe Lencioni of Minnesota, Debra Zaionc of Kenosha and William (Sheryl) Zaionc of Kenosha; and her best friend, Ruth Simmonds of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Theresa Freeman, Rose Lencioni, and Josephine Zaionc; and two brothers, Antonio and Henry Giantonio. The family would like to thank the staff at Kenosha Hospital 7 Palmer and ICU and also at Sterling House for their care and support. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24th, at Proko Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the visitation at St. James Cemetery.
