Esther Moran
Esther Moran, 92, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at her residence. Born on January 1, 1918, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Caterina (Manfredi) Suriano. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. On May 11, 1946, she married Esmond W. Moran at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He passed away on March 24, 1994. For ten years she was employed by Snap-On Tools, and later the Italian American Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Ladies Society of Holy Rosary and the Italian American Ladies Auxiliary. Esther will be remembered for her noodle making and Italian cooking. She loved having family and friends over to her home. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting and most of all going to California in the winter and stopping in Las Vegas with her husband. She is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn (Kelly) Covelli of Kenosha and Josette (Douglas) Omer of Milwaukee, WI; a granddaughter, Julie Ann (Johan) Johanson of California; a grandson, Richard (Angie) Covelli of Kenosha; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Covelli, Nickolas Covelli, Madison Covelli and Emma Johanson. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Mary Cooper, Mayme Rapay, Frank Suriano, Dr. Rafalle Suriano, Grayce Agazzi, Urma Recchia, Helen Suriano and Dominick Suriano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 24th, at Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. There will not be a visitation. My deepest sympathy to you. Your mother was a good friend to my mother, Mary Renzoni. They often exchanged recipes especially the traditional Italian ones. In fact I believe I have her recipe for scalledi. Delicious!
