Carl A. Nelson, 72, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Kenosha on October 3, 1937, the son of the late Henry and Ruth (Cain) Nelson. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. For 22 years he was employed as a mechanic for Kenosha Auto Transport, retiring in 1985. He served in the United States Army. Carl was an avid car enthusiast, Green Bay Packer fan and loved animals. Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (Charles) Bernard of Dousman, WI, and Renee Johnson (Jack Scardino) of Racine; a sister, Darleen Sluga of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Elizabeth, Monica, Walter, Celina, Teddy, Dennis, and Clinton; a great-grandchild, Scarlet; and also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Billy Nelson; his twin sister, Carol; and a brother-in-law, Ben Sluga.
