Bertha Frantal, 92, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Brookside Care Center. She was born in Sheboygan, WI, on July 30, 1917, the daughter of the late George and Anna (York) Kammerzelt. She came to Kenosha as a young girl. She married Frank Frantal on September 5, 1941, in Red Bank, NJ. He passed away on August 31, 1983. Before her retirement, she was employed by Kenosha public schools, and was a secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday school and 15 years of summer bible school. Bertha was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the guitar. She is survived by her son, Dr. Terrence K. (Susan) Frantal of Kenosha; a sister, Emily Sachs of Chicago; two brothers, Rudolph Kammerzelt of Ohio and Dave Kammerzelt of Oregon; four grandchildren, Amy (Samuel) Martin of Kenosha, Dr. Michael (Jessica) Frantal of Kenosha, Candy (Bobby Pikel) Frantal of Atlanta, GA, and Jeffery (Laura) Frantal of Atlanta, GA; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Frank G. Frantal. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Private Funeral Services will be held on Saturday. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
