Rachel Marie Hernandez-Herrera, 37, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center. Born on March 8, 1972, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Natividad and Antonia (Ramirez) Hernandez, Sr., and was educated in local schools. On November 25, 2004, she was united in marriage to Edward Herrera. A member of The Living Word Ministries, Rachel enjoyed taking care of family, cooking and baking. She was an avid Steelers Fan. Surviving are her husband, Edward; four brothers, Jose Luis (Linda) of Racine, Eliseo (Debbie) of Kenosha, Elias of Kenosha, and Aaron of Sheboygan, WI; and three sisters, Abelinda (Severo) Gonzalez of Racine, San Juanita Martinez of Kenosha, and Debra (Bernardo) Acosta of Ceare, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Isac and Natividad Hernandez, Jr.; and a sister, Enedelia Hernandez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10th, at Apostolic Missionary Church, 5824-7th Avenue, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Rachel, I can't believe you are gone. But I am sure you are in Gods hands now and at peace. You were to young to leave us so soon, but I know God has his reasons and it is not our place to question why. I am sending prayers for all of your family and friends.
