C. Tom Wood, 67, of Kenosha passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 23rd, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Born on June 21, 1942, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Willard and Julia (Leonetti) Wood. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Tom was in the United States Army Reserves; he served on active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On September 4, 1971, he married Helen Alice Hamre in Kenosha. She passed away September 23, 2005. For over 22 years he was a Deputy for the Kenosha Co. Sherriff’s Dept.; an entrepreneur he owned and operated several business. He was the former Town Chairman of Pleasant Prairie. Tom started Pleasant Prairie’s first parade, which raised money for their first rescue squad. Surviving are Tom’s four children, Julie, Beth and Thomas Wood and Lisa (Joel) Oechler, all of Kenosha; a sister, Maudie (LeRoy) Billings of Kenosha; and his eight grandchildren, Joel, Jr. and Heidi Oechler, Joshua and Dominic Wood, Payton and Mackenzie Whetstone, and Trinitee and Laylah Crandall. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
