Brian J. Smaniotto, 49, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Born on August 11, 1960, he was the "dear" son of Frank J. and Doris H. (Hoff) Smaniotto of Pleasant Prairie. As a teenager, Brian won many honors on the Local and State levels in Horsemanship on his horse May Day, as a member of the Trail Blazers 4-H Club. Brian graduated from St. Joseph High School and worked with his Dad in the family concrete business for a number of years. He later achieved his Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Operations and belonged to the Operating Engineers Union #139. Brian loved fishing and all things outdoors, including "tuning up and shining up" his truck. He also loved whipping up a batch of his own special Trail Mix which was delicious and which he was always happy to share. Brian is survived by his "very much loved" daughter, Jamie Nicole Smaniotto of Racine, WI; his father and mother; sisters, Deena Smaniotto (Tom Siwakowski) and Daren Smaniotto; very special Godson, Travis Siwakowski; loving Godmother, Helen Elaine Oechler; Aunt Ginny and Uncle Richard Oechler and Aunt Nancy and Uncle Phil Pettey; and cousins. Brian also leaves many friends and "buddies". He was preceded in death by Godfather, Uncle Leroy Hoff, Jr.; Grandpa Frank Smaniotto, Sr.; and Grandma Gladys and Grandpa Leroy "Red" Hoff. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27th, from Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be at the Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to interment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kenosha Achievement Center or to the family would be appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Brian’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
