Antonio Montemurro
Antonio Montemurro, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Antonio was born on September 7, 1931, in Roccabernarda, Italy, to the late Raffaele and Angelina (Messina) Montemurro. He married his beloved wife Luisa Lia, on February 10, 1951. Antonio resided in Kenosha since 1952. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, the Italian American Society, and a retired member of UAW Local 72. In 1996, he retired from Chrysler Motors after 38 years of dedicated service. Antonio enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a true family man with an extraordinary work ethic and a grateful attitude. Above all, Antonio was a man of commitment; he was committed to his wife, his job, and working hard to give his children the best life possible. Antonio is survived and missed by his nine children, Raffaele (Maria) Montemurro, of California, and Dr. Angelina Montemurro, Giuseppe (Pamela) Montemurro, Maria (William) Merritt, Antonio (Rosa) Montemurro, Francesco Montemurro, Filomena (Michael) Swartz, Louisa (Dr. Vincent) Rizzo, and Dr. Leonardo (Jennifer) Montemurro, all of Kenosha. He will also be greatly missed by his eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by a sister, Filomena, and a brother, Leonardo. Antonio was preceded in death by a brother, Francesco, and his loving wife of 58 years, Luisa, on October 6, 2009. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. with a Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Antonio’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

My dear friends,First of all sorry doesn't quite sum up my feelings, but you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of Dad...That picture is absolutely perfect because in that picture you see what he saw in each one of you and your children -- joy and pride and love and determination and happiness. Ma and Dad were always together when I saw them, usually one was not without the other and while many didn't see the playful side of Dad, he did have one...and I loved his sense of humor! He had phrases that I will have in my heart and mind forever.Never an event would go by that you wouldn't get the kiss on the cheek, the sweet sound of "Hey bell, how you doing..." and I am going to miss hearing that but it will always be in my heart. You had an incredible Dad...he was wonderful and all those qualities continue to live on through each and every one of you -- I see the soft and sweet and love and the joy you have for each other and your families.Thank you for sharing him with me...I am going to miss him tremendously.Love Tina

My Dear Compare Tony,Your welcoming, loving ways gave everyone the feeling that they were special. I always smile every time I remember the particular way you greeted me when I visited. It was as though you were saying "I love you" and "I pray for you and wish for you all things good" at the same time. I love you and wish you everlasting happiness in heaven. Ti Amo, Sylvia
