Edward Henry Lingo, 81, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2009, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born on November 14, 1927, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Spoors) Lingo. Growing up in Toledo he attended the schools of Sylvania. He served in the United States Navy, entering on November 2, 1945, and was honorably discharged on August 8, 1946. On May 1, 1948, he married Bette Hawkins in Toledo. He moved to the Kenosha area in 1972 from northern Illinois. He was a project team leader for the engineering department at Abbott Labs for over 15 years. Edward enjoyed traveling in his motor home, snowmobiling up north, and renovating investment properties. He especially enjoyed golf and was very proud of his hole-in-one. He is survived by his wife, Bette Lingo of Bristol; two sons, Jon (Vickie) Lingo of Hixton, WI, and James (Dawn) Lingo of Kenosha; a daughter, Cindy O’Hara of Trevor, WI; a sister, Peggy (Norman) Busch of Toledo, OH; two brothers, Harry (Anne) Lingo of Toledo, OH, and Richard (Betty) Lingo of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Kristie Lingo and Jameson Lingo. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th, at Proko Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by full military honors. Entombment will be held in Toledo, Ohio.
