Joan Ryan, 77, formerly of Kenosha, late of Stevens Point, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Snug Haven in Fond du Lac, WI. Born on May 19, 1932, in Wausau, WI, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Zweck) Wunsch. She was educated in the schools of Wausau. In 1998 she and her husband moved to Wisconsin Dells until moving to Stevens Point eleven years ago. On July 7, 1951, she married John J. Ryan, Sr. She worked for A & W Drive In and Ocean Spray in Kenosha; she later worked at Noah’s Ark in the Wisconsin Dells. Joan liked to attend church and yard sales. Surviving are her husband, John; two children, Timothy John Ryan of Colorado Springs, CO, and Faith Marie Ryan of Stevens Point, WI; her sister, Joyce Normand of Wausau, WI; sister-in-law, Joan Wunsch of Wausau; and three grandchildren, Crystal Blue Marz, Alison Rae Ramsaier and Tracy Ryan. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Gene Ryan and John Joseph Ryan, Jr.; a brother, Lawrence Wunsch; and her identical twin, Jean C. Gentile. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
