Maria Adriaenssens, 103, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at HCR Manor Care. Born on October 16, 1905, in Brasschaat, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Carolus and Petronella (Mannekens) VanHees. On April 24, 1926 she married Petrus Adriaenssens in Brasschaat, Belgium. They resided in Belgium until 1948 when they moved to Chicago. In 1985 they moved to Kenosha and has been residents here ever since. Maria was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter Nelly (Louis) Ricchio of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Ike (Judy) Ricchio of Kenosha, Gabe Ricchio of Trevor, and Carl (Carmella) Ricchio of Kenosha; ten great-grandchildren; and plenty great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 8, 1988, five brothers and two sisters. The family would like to give their sincere thanks to all the wonderful people of HCR Manor Care and also from Heartland Hospice for all their loving care. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21st, from the Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be private in Des Plaines, IL.
