David Altergott Jr., age 86, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at his residence. Born in Chicago, IL, on March 4, 1923, he was the son of the late David and Mary (Aull) Altergott Sr. He came to Kenosha from Chicago as a young boy. On March 23, 1944, he married June Christensen at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She passed away on July 30, 2005. He was employed by The Pepsi Cola Co. for 20 years as a mechanic. He was in the United States Army from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946 as Sergeant. David was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and the VFW Junker Ball Post #1865. Surviving are one son, Richard (Cindy) Altergott of Kenosha; one daughter, Bonnie (Dennis) Aldrich of Kenosha; three sisters, Mary Beyer, Shirley True and Carol (Larry) Amundson; two brothers, Art (Pat) Altergott and Ronnie (Sandy) Altergott; grandchildren, Troy (Trish) Altergott, Duane Aldrich, Dennis (Billie Jo) Schmunck and Melanie (Greg) Kunkel; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Altergott, Cameron Wisecup and Benjamin Kunkel. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Davis; a brother, Richard Altergott; and a grandson, Joshua Schmunck. Services will be held on Saturday, September 19th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
