Anthony Jay “Tony” Grismore, 34, of Salem, WI passed away on August 28, 2009 at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, after a sudden illness. Tony was born on January 27, 1975 in Bluffton, OH. He graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School in 1993, continuing with his education at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, IN where he graduated in 1999 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Tony was currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where he was studying Environmental Geoscience. He was formerly employed at Topy Corporation in Frankfort, KY and Calphalon in Toledo, OH. Tony was an enthusiastic cook, avid online gamer, and passionate about preserving the environment. He loved working on computers and taking care of his yard. Tony was very traditional and was most happy while spending time with his family and old dog, Rocky. Tony is survived by the love of his life Patricia Thompson and daughter Alexandra Thompson, Salem, WI; mother Wendene (Welty) Grismore, Pandora, OH; father Clare Grismore (Mary), Columbus Grove, OH; sisters Emily Grismore, Columbia, MO and Kelli Grismore (fiancé Matthew Bailey), Pickerington, OH; close friends William Thompson, Salem, WI and George Thompson, Ft. Myers, FL; sister Rachel Grismore and step-sister Sarah Kanode, Columbus Grove, OH; maternal grandmother (Ruth) Marie Welty, Pandora, OH; paternal grandparents Herbert and Jane Grismore, Bluffton, OH. Tony is also loved and remembered by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Donald “Red” Welty and maternal grandmother (Velma) Marie Grismore. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center’s Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit for the care and compassion they gave Tony and his family. A Memorial Celebration of Tony’s life will be held at the Lilac House, 901 E. To the Grismore Family: I have many fond memories of hanging out with Tony in Jr. High and High School and remember all of the awesome parties he had!
