First of all, Police Officer Larry Moncher was always a tremendous individual with integrity and outstanding character. He also had a sense of humor and was always respectful to everyone. I remember when I was teaching at Bain Elementary School during the eighties and nineties taking my students to the Safety Center where Officer Larry taught about the different types of safety concerns in his presentations. The students always conducted themselves properly at the Safety Center, and they were expected to learn and participate because of Officer Larry's leadership. He had the ability to connect with the students as well as keeping their attention in class. Officer Larry was an outstanding police officer and an outstanding educator. He cared about his community, and he took pride in being a public servant. God bless Officer Larry.

To the Moncher family; On behalf of all the former employees of the Landscaping unit at Six Flags Great America, we send our heartfelt condolences to your family on the loss of your husband and father. Larry was a pleasure to have working at Six Flags for all the years he was there. He truly was an officer and a gentleman, and will be sincerely missed by all. His smile could light up a room full of people even when everything that day was going wrong. He was one of a kind, I feel fortunate to have known him and was blessed to have him working for me.

Officer Larry was one of my fondest memories as a child. I still remember going on field trips to the safety center. He taught so many kids in Kenosha how to be safe and that you could count on the police. He definitely made a difference in my life and I am sure so many others. My thoughts and prayers are with your family

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Life happens......sometimes just too fast. It seems like just yesterday we were playing in the old neighborhood. I couldn't make the service due to my new job. Once things settle down a bit, call us and we will have you over. Again, my sincere condolences to you and your family.....Orrin

LaVerne and family,I'm thinking of you at this time and wishing you comfort and peace. Extending my sincere sympathy. I think of both of you everytime I pass your home remembering a few years ago when Larry decided to buy the LARGE geese decoys from us-he just had to have the set. And he always had a story to tell me when I would see him at the Yooperfest about my older siblings. Happy memories.

Dear LaVerne and Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. There are so many great memories for you and your family. Larry touched so many people in different ways. Dick and I enjoyed our chats with both of you on those evenings when we ran into each other in the neighborhood on our nightly walks as well as the visits in you home. Officer Larry taught all the children so much. The Safety Patrol Cadet program was such a great accomplishment. The trip to Washington, DC for that group was a great experience for our son and many others. Larry took the extra time to make sure our son found his uncle's grave at Arlington National. He always went that extra mile for all kids. Larry was never afraid to tell you what he thought or offer advice, a solution to a problem, always had a smile on his face, a kind word for all, and ready to give support or a helping hand to anyone in need. One could see the love and pride he had for his family. Love and Prayers,Dick, Karen, Michelle and Patrick Weyand

Officer Larry was one of the original "good guys" of my childhood. I still remember him coming to my kindergarten class, setting up a model intersection, and teaching us all to cross only with the lights and look "left, right, left again" before entering the street. He taught so many kids in Kenosha not only how to be safe, but that police cared about us and were our friends. I'm sure he will make it safely to the other side. May it comfort you to know what a difference he made.

Wow, I hadn't thought of the name "Officer Larry" or of him in years, but as soon as I saw his name, I instantly remembered being a little kid in Kenosha and him teaching us how to cross the street, not talk to strangers, and other safety tips in elementary school. He fulfilled his mission and was of great service to our generation. Thank you, Officer Larry. Bless you and your family, and congrats on 50 years of marriage. Not many can say that these days. I believe I also know Mona, and I'm sorry for the loss of your father.
