Margaret Clausen, 95, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of Waukegan, IL, passed away at her home on August 1, 2009. She was born on March 22, 1914, in Waukegan, the daughter of Sarah Leona (Thorn) and William Wedge. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School and attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. Margaret worked in the Tailor Shop at Great Lakes Naval Station in her early years and was a business woman (self employed) until she married Victor Clausen in 1975. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, dance, travel and entertain her family. Margaret was a member of the Junior Women’s League in Waukegan for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard Wedge and Bruce Blackburn of Flint, MI; and husband, Victor Clausen of Pleasant Prairie, WI. Survivors include daughters, Diane Weber and Bonnie Lee Aldrich; grandchildren, Amber (Elliott) Abbott, Paulette (Zeb) Merson, Michelle (Bryan) Fetter, and Darren Carter; great-grandchildren, Brandon Elliott, Leah Abbott, Kali Abbott, Sophia Fetter, Tiffany Fetter, and Dylan Logan; great-great grandchildren, Jacob Abbott and Braydon Elliott; step-sons, Roger Clausen, Norman Clausen, Gary Clausen and Gene Clausen; grandchildren, Greg, Noel, Bill, Louise, Gina, Nicole, Matthew, and David; and great-grandchildren, Noelle, Jillian, Zackery, Connor, Grace and Anna. Visitation will be held at the Kemper Center Chapel, 6501-3rd Avenue, Kenosha, on Wednesday, August 5th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Millburn Cemetery in Millburn, IL, following the service. We were sad to hear of Margaret's passing. What a wonderful lady! She had a great smile that reflected the beautiful person that she was. We always looked forward to seeing her at the Star Bar and have missed her since our closing. Margaret and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.
