Sandra Kay Jermstad, age 58, of Racine, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Racine on July 12, 2009, after a three month battle with lung cancer. She was born in Kenosha, WI, on December 27, 1950, the daughter of the late Merlin and Arlys (Ames) Jermstad. Sandra was employed by Walmart for the past 17 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her smile, her compassion for others and generosity will always be remembered. Sandy’s greatest joy in life was loving and raising her children. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Funk of McAllen, TX; three beautiful grandchildren, Meagan, Justin and a newborn baby due in November; a sister, Tracey (Daniel) Neuwirth of Wales, WI; and two brothers, Jeff Jermstad of Kenosha, WI, and Bruce Jermstad of Union Grove, WI. She is also survived by a niece, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her precious son, Daniel in 2001; a sister, Diane Jermstad; and her parents. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5601 Washington Road, Kenosha, at 12:00 noon. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
