1932 ∼ 2009

Wayne James Perkins
Wayne James Perkins, 76, of Salem and Tucson, formerly of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born on December 24, 1932, in Dodgeville, WI, to the late Willard and Gwendolyn Perkins. He was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Baker. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia who was united in marriage to Wayne on June 17, 1961; his daughter, Cheryl (Edward) Wendt of Tucson, AZ; son, Richard (Michelle) Perkins of Paddock Lake, WI; daughter, Diane (Gregg) Thompson of Somers, WI; his grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Wendt, Brook and Zachary Perkins, and Michael, Christina, Eric, Elena and Elizabeth Thompson; as well as his nieces and their families. Wayne grew up in Dodgeville and then attended UW-Madison for college, graduating with a Business Administration-Accounting Degree. His first career job after college was for Gaarder and Miller in Madison. This is where he met the love of his life, Virginia, as she was a bookkeeper there. He soon started his own business in Kenosha and was co-founder of PPG Management Consultants, LLC. During his professional career, he was a member of SMD (Society of Medical and Dental Management Consultants) and was the only member to be elected President for two consecutive years. He also enjoyed traveling and took many wonderful trips with his wife and family. His hobbies consisted of collecting toy buses, photography and arts/crafts. Upon retirement, he and his wife became snowbirds during the winter months and headed to Tucson, AZ, but also continued to travel in his motor home. He was a caring and giving man, but also had an amazing sense of humor. He always had a few jokes to tell. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be missed dearly by all. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Wayne’s Online Memorial book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

To the Perkins Family:Please accept my sincere sympathy. Your Dad will be missed by many. I remember the summer I started IV's for your Dad. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. He was a great Father, and Grandfather, I'm sure. Just think of all the memories and stories you will be able to share. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
