Henry Francis Petersen

Henry F. "Hank" Petersen, 78, passed from this life to eternal life on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009. Hank was a lifetime resident of Kenosha, most recently a resident of Grand Prairie Care facility, born November 13, 1930, to Walter and Celestia (Bray) Petersen. The fifth of five children, Henry attended public schools and was a graduate of Park High School in Racine. During Hank’s lifetime he was employed at Coopers, American Motors and Ray Radigan’s Restaurant. Hank was past president of the Kenosha Public Library, and president of the Parent Teacher Association of Whittier Elementary School. In 1953, Hank was joined in marriage to Mary C. Dorsey at St. James Catholic Church, Kenosha; they later divorced. Hank was the father of seven children who survive him, Catherine (Riley) Fulmer of Kenosha, Mary Petersen-Peltz of Altadena, CA, Jane Petersen (Dennis Best) of Kenosha, David (Jodi) Petersen of Valley Springs, CA, William (Jay) Petersen of Stamford, CT, Rev. Michael Petersen of Fond du Lac, WI, and James (Angela) Petersen of Kenosha; one sister, Alice (Dean) Adams of Hayward, WI; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Celestia in 1957; and three sisters, Shirley Asboth, Beverly Koseman and Dorothy Gleason. Private services were held with interment taking place at St. James Cemetery. Hank’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the wonderful pastoral care offered by Hospice Alliance and Grand Prairie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and by the priests and deacons of St. Mary Parish.
