Sandra Istvanek, 66, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, May 31st, 2009. Born in Kenosha on October 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Michael Witkauskis and Violet (Ricker) Sturycz. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. She married Charles Istvanek on April 8, 1961, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a former member of the Moose Club, Sandra enjoyed gardening, antiques, crafting, decorating, and shopping. She always had a special place in her heart for the animals in her life. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Tisha and Samantha. Her kind and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband, Charles “Frannie” of Kenosha; two daughters, Tammi (Jeff) Senical of Kenosha and Sherri Istvanek of Illinois; a brother, Michael (Sue) Witkauskis of Kenosha; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Louis) Cairo of Kenosha; and her two granddaughters, Tisha Istvanek-Senical of Minnesota and Samantha Senical of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann; her parents, Michael Witkauskis and Violet (Ricker) Sturycz; and close friend, Kristin Lambrecht. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Thursday, June 4th. Entombment followed at All Saints Mausoleum.
