Larry W. Johnson, 63, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Waukegan, IL, on March 1, 1946, he was the son of the late Clayton W. and Dorothy L. (Oglesby) Johnson, Sr. He came to Kenosha as a child and was a 1964 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On November 12, 1970, he entered the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge on April 21, 1971. On August 15, 1992, he married Jacquelyn Villella in Kenosha. From 1964 until 1975, he was employed by Montgomery Ward’s and since 1977 he worked at Waxdale for S.C. Johnson Wax Company. Larry was an avid baseball fan. Surviving are his wife, Jackie of Kenosha; a son, Brian Thielen of Kenosha; a daughter, Erika (James) Nemeth of Racine; four brothers, Ronald (Linda) Johnson of Sturtevant, Clayton Johnson, Jr. of Kenosha, Robert (Bonnie) Johnson of Pahrump, NV, and Jerald Johnson of Kenosha; and his four grandchildren, Cody, Gabriel, Tanner and Kolton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21st, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Interment, with full Military Honors, will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
