Gerald Tryban, Jr., 55, of Pleasant Prairie passed away at his residence Monday, May 4th, 2009. Born in Milwaukee, WI, on July 24, 1953, he was the son of Gerald and Janet (Schuette) Tryban, Sr. He was a resident of Pleasant Prairie and was formerly of Muskego. He was married to Elizabeth McCoy. She passed away March 26, 2008. A Millwright by trade, he worked for Southport Machinery. He was in the United States Army 82nd Airborne from March 31, 1972, until January 29, 1974, during the Viet Nam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge and Expert Infantryman Badge. He then reenlisted from June 16, 1976, until January 29, 1979, when he was honorably discharged, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Infantryman’s Badge. A member of the Milwaukee Carpenters Local #2337, and an avid Green Bay Packer Fan, Gerald loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Gerald was the Big Brother and Protector, one of the kindest, gentlest souls that ever walked the earth. Surviving are his parents, Gerald and Janet Tryban, Sr. of Pleasant Prairie; seven nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Brianna, Nicholas, Shelbi, Christa, Hannah, James and Callie; a great nephew, Jakobi; three sisters, Jean (Timothy) Aker of Pleasant Prairie, Judy (Rick) Rubenzer of Pleasant Prairie, and Joanne (Ron) Widi of Palmyra, WI; two brothers, Jeff (Diane) Tryban of Pleasant Prairie and James (Kathy) Tryban of Trevor; two sons, Daniel Salentine of Germany and Mark Salentine of Mukwonago, WI; and also many other relative and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
