Jerry E. Organist, 83, of Kenosha, passed away Wednesday, March 11th, 2009, at his residence with his family by his side. Born in Kenosha on December 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Andrew and Sophie (Gbur) Organist. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he graduated from Kenosha High School. Jerry was a Sergeant in the United States Marines during World War II, from December 15, 1943, until May 8th of 1946. He served in the Pacific Theater. On December 26, 1946, he was united in marriage to Theresa LeMay at St. James Catholic Church. For 32 years Jerry was Manager of Southport Lumber Co., retiring in 1988. Surviving are his loving family, Theresa, his wife of 62 years; daughter, Diane and son-in-law Harvey Sabin of Kenosha; grandson, Douglas Sabin; and great-granddaughter, Amber Sabin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Szerfinski. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Miso Miloslavic, Dr. Joshua Bloom and Hospice Alliance for all of the great care given in Jerry’s time of need. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
